Vintage 1960 Vox Jennings AC15 TV 1×12 2nd Circuit Guitar Valve Amplifier Combo I’ve just had the privilege of purchasing this beauty off of Barry, the owner of this AC15 for circa 50 years, since he purchased it in the mid to late 1970s. Barry was the General Manager of EMI Records in the late 1970s and even met Dick Denny and Tom Jennings personally a few times. This is a wonderful 2nd series Vox AC15 amplifier ( pot codes 'AH' date this to January 1960), one of only 200 to be made in this circuit and layout, of which many had varying knobs, tolex and grill cloth. It is likely that the tolex covering is a slightly later replacement/recover, but there is a possibility it could be a custom order as these were made during the early period where things were hand made. The amplifier has just gone through a service by the previous owner. Both channels are brilliant, with channel two having a slight background noise (only if you wack up the volume near max). He had to replace a couple of capacitors but has left the originals in place (just bypassed). Cosmetically this is in brilliant condition, with a few light marks but nothing significant. I believe all the valves are original to the amplifier, as is the Goodmans 12" speaker. This is an i ncredible piece of history!
