• Beschreibung: Vorliegend ein Porträtstich, der eine Person mit auffälligem Hut, wohl ein Korb, zeigt. Besonders bemerkenswert ist der expressive Gesichtsausdruck, welcher die Grafik belebt. Lebhafte Augen und eine entschiedene Mundhaltung charakterisieren das Gesicht. Der detailreiche Drapierung des Kleidungsgewandes sowie der fein gezeichnete Hutschmuck verweisen auf eine Meisterschaft in der Schraffurtechnik. Der Gesamteindruck ist von nuancierter Schattengebung und struktureller Feinheit geprägt.

• Zustand: Akzeptabler Zustand. Auf dem gesamten Blatt sind Stockflecken sichtbar. Auf dem Blattrand oben Kratzspuren im Papier. Oben links kurzer Randeinriss. Entlang der unteren Blattkante mehrere kurze Randeinrisse. Entlang der seitlichen Kanten mehrere blasse Flüssigkeitsflecken sowie leichte Stoßspuren. Die Blattecken sind geringfügig bestoßen und geknickt. Die rechte untere Blattecke fehlt.

• Description: This is a portrait engraving showing a person with a striking hat, probably a basket. The expressive facial expression, which enlivens the print, is particularly remarkable. The face is characterised by lively eyes and a resolute mouth. The detailed draping of the garment and the finely drawn hat jewellery point to a mastery of hatching technique. The overall impression is characterised by nuanced shading and structural delicacy.

• Condition: Rather good condition. Foxing visible on the entire sheet. Scratch marks in the paper at the top margin. Short marginal tear at top left. Several short marginal tears along the lower edge of the sheet. Several pale liquid stains along the lateral edges as well as slight traces of bumping. The corners of the sheet are slightly bumped and creased. The lower right corner of the sheet is missing.
